Vitiligo Symptoms Vitiligo produces spots which are small areas of different skin color. The skin disease can also produce spots that are flat, pale or white and can not be felt with the fingers. These brands often extend to form very large, irregularly shaped areas without pigmentation. Generally, it is painless and does not itch. The cause of vitiligo is unknown, but autoimmunity may be a factor. In floral pattern, depigmented patches are limited to one or only a few. In segmented mode, they grow on one side of the body while in the generalized model, the patches appear all over the body. In addition to the white / pale markings, patients may notice the premature aging of the scalp hair, the eyelashes, eyebrows and beard. It changes color, leaving white patches or streaks. When it grows on the scalp, stops producing melanin which causes hair growth in the affected area to a white or gray. In addition, people with dark skin may have a loss of color inside their mouths.
