Free virus protection is great if you are broke Because new viruses are created constantly, anti-virus protection is never guaranteed, but a software updated antivirus protection is better that you will be protected against new viruses discovered by the manufacturer of the antivirus software you use .
Free software protection against viruses are often very good, but you must keep away from the fraud. To understand why you need a paid or free virus protection, it would be better if you know what a virus is and how it works. The best way to learn is really to be infected by one. We will not teach you to be infected, instead you how best to avoid that happening.
You can be infected at the moment, completely ignore. An e-mail with an attachment virus could also arise in your mailbox, and when you open this attachment your computer will be infected. Sooner or later you will receive an email like this. If you have a paid or a free virus protection, this message must be cleaned, quarantined or deleted. If you do not
protection, you could be in serious trouble.
A virus could be created for many different things to harm your system. This is a piece of code with the ability to replicate again and again. A computer virus could for instance cause your telephone bill to show charges for calls made to pornographic sites, or other suspect sites. Even if you are absolutely sure that you have never been on those porn
sites, or something similar, the charge will appear on your telephone bill. What we are talking about here is a so-called "Dialer" virus. These work with dial-up.
Other viruses are made to erase your system files, and the result is a total shutdown of your computer system. The virus could practically do anything they want. What are the intentions of different viruses, is determined solely by their creators.
So how can we protect ourselves and protect our computers against these malicious threats? Well, it has become an endless task to maintain security systems and updates to protect against the latest threats. No virus protection software, free or paid, knows all the viruses out there, and there is a wide variety of products when it comes to number of signatures of known viruses, and
ability to find and remove threats.
Many of the largest manufacturers protection against viruses are known to have a large database of signatures, but unfortunately it seems they are not always best placed to eliminate the virus. Personally, I have more value when it is both free and paid virus protection software is the software's ability to find and destroy viruses, but it works on some system resources. This way you can always do a virus check, and continue to use the computer as you did.
Here too many choices, but I will recommend a piece of free antivirus protection software that you can test yourself. It is an open source project has begun to private users contribute to the development of this software. It operates on limited resources, has a good database of signatures, and best of all, it's free.
