Is there a nut allergy this is not a nut or peanut? I sent a letter to parents telling them of a child in my class who had a peanut and nut allergy. My mother was angry that I did not mention the child allergic to "NUTS ALL, not just peanuts and tree nuts."
Are not those the kind? And peantus not even mad!
She probably wants a list of all types of nuts, which would cover the actual nuts instead of simply saying "peanut and nut" when they are the two types. If she wants more precise definition of what the child is allergic to, so it should provide more information.
A nut is defined as any hard-shelled fruits and seeds can be eaten. Only a few are commercially available, but maybe this mother has been too critical. Technically olive, coconut, chocolate and nuts mangosteen, as well as some others.
It is probably too critical and protective, but it is difficult to deal with food allergies.
If peanuts are not nuts, it's only because they do not grow on trees. Ne pistachios grown in soil as well? Maybe that?
