Would the presence of lymphoma in some systems always return a number of abnormal cells? Basically I'm sick and my doctor is puzzled as to what I have. I'm having symptoms that seem like a mixture of mono, lymphoma, and a bad sinus infection, but we can not determine the cause of my symptoms.
I did blood work (CKG and differential, I do not remember the acronym) and all heads were perfect and my normal. Does this mean lymphoma can be excluded?
It will help you know your age.
But as to the main question, most people with one of the two dozen or more different types of lymphoma will quite normal in blood on a CBC.
A normal CBC in any way the rules on one of the many types of lymphoma.
A young age (under 30) excludes many - but not all - types of lymphoma.
No, I is not scared!
There are different types of lymphomas and leukemias. Some cause an increase or decrease your obvious WBC while others can not affect it.
I do not know what kind of doctors you have seen so far, but you should see a hematologist. Have you ever been tested for the protein of myeloma? Anyone making a lymph node biopsy?
Sounds like me, but I have not been to the doc yet. You're lucky, they are perplexed .... at least they have not yet found anything serious. I wonder if I have cancer of the tonsils and sinuses or something like that. I do not know about the issue of number of cells.
I am in remission from lymphoma. every six months that I have blood tests and a ckup dr. I was told that my blood count is good in the last 6 years.
