Sinus Headache Medication

Posted on March 23, 2010.
Sinus Headache MedicationWhat is Sinus headaches can I take medication during pregnancy?

I have a headache very bad sinuses. Tylenol does not work. I wondered if all pregnant women out there has Sudafed and were very good. I would also like to know if pregnant women there was OK Theraflu and also ...
Thank you

My really bad seasonal allergies that give me sinus headaches if I do not take drugs. I usually take Allegra, a drug that are not sure if it will affect the baby or not, I do not take it. The doctor told me to take claratin. She said it would not harm the baby. I was told not to take Sudafed in the first quarter, but it is in the second and third quarters. Try the link below, it indicates which medications are safe during pregnancy. Good luck and congratulations!

I was told that no Absolutely, it is sucking what doctors told me I was off work for 2 weeks.

I hope you feel better = (

Tylenol, but do not take my advice. Ask a doctor because there could have undesirable effects in your state.

I was informed by my doctor or JUST Tylonol Benedryl. The best advice is to get a list of your med doctor. Mine gave me one, but Sudafed was on the "no" list. Mine has been adapted for me though.

Some doctors are OK with Sudafed, and some are not. I would call your doctor and ask. If you're not OK with him, they can call you a prescription for something they feel comfortable with you to help.

Unfortunately, the only thing you can take Tylenol is - you will be allowed if you take the other stuff, but your baby can not be and it's just too risky ... I am pregnant and get too horrible allergies and get dizzy and sick at heart whenever he pollinates the outside, not to mention horrible headache! I have not touched even though Sudafed is the only thing that ever worked for me. It is difficult to be pregnant, there are many sacrifices you have to do during those nine months, but remember that taking the wrong medication can harm your baby for the rest of his life really puts things in perspective. Do you prefer the headache or watch your child struggle with a birth defect for the rest of his life? I'm afraid you'll have to do the former - set in a dark place and put some ice packs on your head! If your headache comes from allergies then obtain an air filter - I have the Kenmore one (only available through Sears, about $ 80), it works wonders! If the pollen is very bad outside I just turn it on high all day and stay inside as much as I can. If your headache is a cold or sinus problems, and prevention is the best way - get a humidifier to keep your sinuses moist (if they are dry you are more likely to fall ill). I am a very sick, so I should be extremely careful during the cold and flu season when I got pregnant. I used the saline nasal spray at least 5 times a day (keep the nasal passages moist! - I know it makes no sense, but believe me) And when you get home from work around the kettle and inhale the steam through your nose with a towel over your head, it will loosen up anything that you can breathe - but be careful - not too close to steam or you'll burn your face! Ultimately, peolple can tell you that it is authorized to take and do anything during your pregnancy - but if they are wrong, they are not the ones who will raise your child with special needs, making it hard if you do not die. I hope this helps - be strong (for luck, one) and sound!

Call a pharmacist and know.
