Does anyone have a hidden secret to relieve heartburn and more Tums and milk products? I have horrible heartburn pregnancy and I pass by Tums like candy and I might as well buy the darn cow's milk. Some tips to help relieve over 30 minutes would be great.
You can keep Mylanta in the refrigerator. It is safe. (My hospital, it gives women in labor.) Something cold, in addition to the antacid seems to help, and you can take it as often as you want.
With your OB OK, you can take 150mg of Zantac twice a day. (You can buy Zantac over the counter, now.)
And if all else fails, get a prescription for some samples or Prevacid. This is what I ended up doing when Zantac was not enough, and I've never had another problem with heartburn. I took him until the day I visited, twice, then quit.
This is my friend.
Gaviscon is good, but again. you can buy at any pharmacy's stock.
A doctor recommended something? This way, you can get a prescription and not have to spend your money because it will be free.
Good luck for the rest of your pregnancy!
Eat small meals and frequent. Watch to see if certain foods bother you more than others. Keep a little something on your stomach at all times. I ate Tums like candy with my first two children as well.
Yes, there is this sort of thing, like Tums heartburn, but the more it is called Gaviscon and you can take when you are Preggo I asked my doc and he told me it's very Well, I have bad heartburn and it is the only thing that works.
Ask your doc. I know previcid is a gift from Gawd for me
Take one part non-fat yogurt and add four to five parts water ... mix well by beating him with drummer and drink the buttermilk "after lunch and dinner .... Try it for two days, if it does not give you relief ... stop using.
Remember, the yogurt should not be pie. Use gentle but regular tasting yogurt.
Zantac tablets ...... They are fantastic
drink a tablespoon of vinegar in water with a teaspoon of honey mixed in
Try unsalted crackers, it absorbs the acid. It is also good for the first quarter, when you're constantly nauseated. Also flat ginger ale and sprite wonders flat or 7up.
Baking soda and water works well. Just put a teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water and drink it all at once. It neutralizes acid and helps to calm your stomach at the same time. My mother has been doing for years, even when she was pregnant.
Mint cordial
the only thing that really worked for me, it's milk. . chocolate milk or milkshakes. . .
The chewable Rolaids. they work fast
I tried the Tums thing too and it worked at first, but I think my body has become immune against them since I am about 4 at a time or heartburn is getting worse. This is too weird because you think the later you get your pregnancy, the better it would get, but it has not and I am gong to 34 weeks. shortness of breath has not been much better. I do not know if it's because my son is so great that he is constantly pressing on regardless of the cause of these things or he simply has not yet fallen. I hope it is not so big. I mean the last time I went to the doctor who was two weeks ago, I had an ultrasound and he weighed 4 lbs 1 oz as the doc said was normal.
Try not to drink while you eat, and sit down (back straight as you can get it) for at least 30 minutes after each meal. I had to do b / c the fluid makes the food in my stomach too liquidy, and reflux really easy. I stopped drinking at meals, and ate tons of starchier foods (like mashed potatoes, steamed rice and pasta) at each meal. It worked very well, expecially later, when the baby left no room in my stomach for my stoma.
