Pet Supplements

Posted on February 6, 2010.
Pet SupplementsWhen do you give your dog supplements?

I asked my vet, he said protein supplements would not hurt my dog, and he can help his coat. Has anyone experience giving their supplements for pets? What is different supplements do for them?

I give my dog garlic pills for his coat and keep fleas away, every night after dinner, he takes and he knows when his time and he hears the bottle and is running

I do not.
I do not waste money on unnecessary gadgets.
My food is "complete and balanced.

EXCESS OF DAMAGES proteins kidneys!

I give my dog glucosamine supplements to keep their joints healthy. If your dog needs to spend more proteins of a higher protein food, like Evo, before grain, Canidae, Blue Wilderness, Horizon Legacy Artemis maximum instinct, Orijen, Taste of Nature or welfare basis.

Just food and water will be sufficient

Mattlock: I can not imagine what your breath must smell the dogs ......

I give my Chi a suppliment to the joints (for veterinary adviser). I just got someone who are like candy.

Protein should be supplied by food, not supplements. Find a good quality food. Although many foods have added supplements glucosamine and chondroitin, as for joint health, it can be in such small quantities to provide little benefit. A supplement of salmon oil can help his coat.

protein-rich foods were once thought to promote renal dysfunction or failure. But the experiments were conducted on rats, dogs not. There is no evidence that high protein leads to kidney failure. Rich in protein may be a problem if a dog is in renal failure already, or has an existing kidney problem, but asymptomatic.
