Does anyone have risen to the contraceptive pill contains only progesterone? I've been on an estrogen / progesterone pill since college. Now that I am over 40 I intend to switch to a progesterone pill.
If you have activated using a pill containing estrogen containing only a progestin, can you tell me what you experienced side effects, if any? Would you recommend upgrading?
Thank you -

I saw this question unanswered so far. Please forgive me answer, as you have the answers expected by users of pills alone.
The contraceptive pills that you used to date are combined estrogen and progestin pills.
There is no contraceptive pills with estrogen alone
Risk of venous thromboembolism in women increases with age and estrogen in combined pills increases this risk. This is why doctors recommend progestegen tablets only when you are above 40.
As you are 40 now, it is better to go with progestin only pills, especially if the doctor recommends.
The side effects are menstrual irregularities, nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, impaired appetite.
In the combined oral contraceptive pills that you used you get the same side effects.
If you do not have the above side effects during the use of combined contraceptive pills, you are unlikely to get side effects with progestin-only contraceptive pills.
