What is considered a long follicular phase? My last two cycles were 41 days with ovulation, 27 days. My Lutala phase is 14 days, I know it's normal. My follicular phase was 27 days, is it considered too long to conceive? I went to a gynecologist who did a variety of blood work at different times of my cycle to see what happens. She suggested I try clomid, this may shorten my follicular phase?
Yes, that is considered long. Your question DO follicular phase, because it can say things about what is going on with your hormone levels or your egg quality or quantity.
Clomid (assuming there are no other issues) is an excellent starting point. For some women, the hormone which stimulates extra is all it takes. Clomid will certainly reduce your follicular phase and give you a good health in the ovulation process.
If I were you, I would jump on this .... but have a monitoring cycle. You want to make sure that you meet good and your liner is not cleared (a possible side effect of Clomid).
Good luck!
Yes, it seems long.
If you have been TTC for over a year, go to a reproductive endocrinologist. Or do you suggest an OB. They are experts in this kind of thing - OB-GYN doctors are generally not. The ROE can test your blood and make sure you have a HSG test done before taking Clomid, since taking Clomid when your tubes are blocked is unnecessary and increases your risk of all sorts of questions. Clomid has many drawbacks - such as reducing your wall of the uterus so that it is not ideal for the siting.
I do not think that ovulation, time to really make much difference - it is the luteal phase (from ovulation to the start of your period) that really matters and see that yours is 14 days perfect! Good luck and baby dust to you!
Yes, it's too long. Mine are too long. Cycles over 35 days are considered abnormal and may mean that you are not ovulating. Clomid would reduce your follicular phase.
