Does it take longer to heal if they cross keloid surgery? I had a laparotomy 10 weeks ago for an ectopic pregnancy (my 2nd) and they cut through an old keloid scar from an old wound that has been laparotomy also because I had an ectopic pregnancy uterine-seven years ago, because they do not want to give me another scar. now it still feels tender and painful, and even if it closed, I have yet to put dressing on it because it feels against my clothes first. I still can not use jeans or my work uniform and not feel bad. Does it really take longer to heal if they cut through keloid scar?
I thought that when they pass through an old scar, they get rid of scar tissue before reclosing it (like just take a little bit of fabric off each side of the incision so that they have "fresh" edges ). Honestly, I have no idea exactly what I thought they would do so you do not have scar tissue forms on the scar tissue.
