What are some examples of foods high in carbohydrates and low carbohydrate foods? People always think things is yellow high carbohydrate. Although this is almost true, there are exceptions. Potatoes are rich in carbohydrates and so is pasta. Rice is also another, but brown rice is lower. Never heard of couscous? Now this stuff is excellent. Low fat and low in carbohydrates and low GI. Corn (honey) are also rich in carbohydrates. Chocolate and sweets are high. The meat and vegetables (greens) are low in carbohydrates.
One poster above is correct. Butter is high in carbohydrates. Fats ... such as meat and cheese have little or no carbohydrates. Eggs are also without carbohydrates, such as mayonnaise, ham, mustard, and some sauces. High carb things like pasta, bread, fruit, some vegetables have carbohydrates (like carrots), milk products, candy. When I was on Atkins (which I strongly discourage you, because all the fat intake), I had a cheese omelet and bacon for breakfast, some fish tuna served on slices of cheese lunch (with celery and ranch or a salad) and then the chicken and vegetables for dinner.

Everything I love to eat is high in carbohydrates - white rice, bread, pasta and desserts.
Everything else should be low carb butter, oils, cheeses and almost all nuts are coated with sugar or syrup.
I followed a low carbohydrate diet for six months and I lost 8 pounds.
It works but you need to eat carbohydrates from time to time, otherwise you nuts. I have my breakfast cereal in the morning to the fiber and that's all.
I live off protein foods such as, lean meats, low fat dairy products, eggs, and of course vegetables. Fruits are carbohydrates, however, you need one or two pieces a day.
Chocolate in moderation is OK because it is low GI and a lot of antioxidants.
Rice, pasta, bread and potatoes are almost non-exist ant in my food today and I do not miss them.
ice cream is low fat treat my guilt free!
Some foods have high carbohydrate content of pasta, potatoes, sugar, bread, milk, lollipops, chocolate, chips and cereals.
Some foods are low in carbohydrates, meat such as beef, bacon, pork, chicken, fish, and tuna. also salads such as lettuce, cucumber, celery. Eggs are low in carbohydrates, and most difficult of cheese. I found the book by Dr. Akins has carbs and what not to eat. also the power of protein is also a good book.

Carbohydrates are basically sugars, or foods that will convert sugar / glucose.
Foods rich in carbohydrates include any food that contains natural sugars or artificial such as orange juice, fruit, soft drinks, candy, etc., and any food containing starches (which will consult with sugars) such as potatoes, cereals, bread, rice, wheat, etc. A lot less carbohydrates can also be found in non-starchy vegetables such as tomatoes, broccoli, green beans, etc. <.
