Headache Diagnosis

Posted on February 13, 2010.
Headache DiagnosisCervical (neck) headache and migraine or the same state?

Why is it that if the treatment of the neck provides a relief it is assumed that co-exists with cervicogenic migraine or it is misdiagnosed migraine? Why can it be that cervicogenic factors play a role in the process of migraine?

It is clear that patients with "migraine" that did not respond to treatment for migraines recognized obtain relief from severe pain to numbness of the greater occipital nerve, there can be only one conclusion ....

YourHeadacheSoultions.co.uk is a voice of the Watson Institute headaches.

Watson Headache Institute was created to increase awareness of cervicogenic (neck) headache disorders and migraine in transmitting my (and others) the experience and clinical knowledge, to present and discuss past and this relevant research and to undertake and sustain rigorous clinical and scientific research in this specialty.

Appropriate and current knowledge is self-accountability, I think all headache patient has the right to know their diagnosis of headache as accurately as possible (and what that means), to ascertain the nature of their headache disorder, its results and possible types of treatment.

What has yet to gain acceptance is my (and others) belief, supported by my clinical experience unparalleled and an important body of international research, it is wrong to treat headache and migraine types as entities totally different and cervicogenic (neck) disorders may play a role in the process of headaches and migraines.

Although physical therapy, chiropractic, osteopathy, are different disciplines, we support the idea that headache and migraine, irrespective of their diagnosis, can be helped to live their lives more effectively through a appropriate treatment of the neck. However, because treatment of the neck does not match the medical model of headache and migraine, the model showed some interest in exploring this possibility. It is essential that all factors have the potential to sensitize the brainstem, a survey also. Currently this is not the case - the neck is largely unknown.

Thus, while YourHeadacheSolutions.com is also about education, it is also a directory for migraine headaches and practitioners from the source that have a particular interest and are qualified for consideration by the neck as a source of your headache or migraine - to create a more holistic approach and offer an alternative treatment without medication.
