Can I return to the United States with a criminal record related to drugs.? Hello.
While I was doing an exchange program with the United States in 2008, I was caught with 0.7 grams of weed in the Giant Sequoia National Park.
Spent the night in jail and was sentenced to pay a bill of about $ 250, by the Federal Court in Fresno.
I paid and left the U.S. a few days later, on my flight booked to return normal in France.
My question is this: there will be any monitoring of the border police and other customs officers who can help us return to the territory:
- For the duration of a short stay - holiday
- For longer stays - work ...
If yes, how long is the police can stop me from entering the United States - is there an expiration date of such crimes?
Can I do something to be granted a pardon or something similar, so my record is bleaching?
If not, what should I do if I still have to come to us, such as emergencies or for employment reasons? can be found on the leaf green question mark on the plane?
Thank you for answers and advice ...
Your fine, it was not a crime. Heck we let a known terrorist (now the Detroit terrorism) on our watch list among states.
Just be sure to go to the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol website. Whatever you do do not lie on the leaf.
If you were booked (photos and fingerprints) there will always be a record of your arrest to our database. A good customs agent can discover the falsehood of a single arrest and deny you entry.
