Dizziness SymptomsDizziness - Causes, Symptoms and Treatment

Many terms are often used to describe what is collectively known as dizziness. Common descriptions include words such as dizziness, floating, rickety, dizziness, confusion, helplessness, or blurred. Vertigo, imbalance and pre-syncope are the terms used by most doctors. Dizziness is sometimes a symptom of a balance disorder.

Causes of dizziness

Eyes. Whatever your position, visual signals help you determine where your body is in space and how it moves.

Lightheadedness happens when there is not enough blood entering the brain. This can occur if there is a sudden drop in blood pressure or if you are dehydrated from vomiting, diarrhea, fever, or other causes. Many people, especially as they age little experience, if they rise too quickly from a lying or sitting position. Lightheadedness often accompanies the flu, hypoglycemia, cold, or allergies.

Meniere's disease (pressure fluctuations in the inner ear] endolymph fluid [; results in severe vertigo, ringing in the ears [] tinnitus and progressive hearing loss)

ie ototoxicity (, ear poisoning)

Vertigo Symptoms

Almost any symptom or group of symptoms may accompany dizziness. They depend on the ultimate cause.

Malaise ("lightheaded") or actual fainting

Diagnosis dizziness

Before vertigo can be treated, doctors must determine the nature and cause. Doctors ask the person to describe in detail the sensations felt: if the feeling in the episode was weakness, dizziness, unsteadiness, spinning or movement of self or surroundings (vertigo), or another sensation. The person is asked when the dizziness began, how long it lasted, what triggered or relieved, and what other symptoms: headache, deafness, noise in the ears (tinnitus), impaired vision, weakness or difficulty walking, were present.

Treatment dizziness

Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy

vestibular rehabilitation (TRV) is a type of physical therapy used to treat vertigo. The goal of treatment is to minimize dizziness, improve balance and prevent falls by restoring normal functioning of the vestibular system.

Medical

Treatment depends on the cause of dizziness the patient.

Doctors can start emergency treatment, perhaps for a heart attack or stroke, a blood emergency, or surgery.

Often, IV fluids were given to treat dehydration.

If the child loses consciousness and does not join within a few minutes, if breathing seems slow or irregular, or if dizziness leads to a seizure (with contractions of the limbs or incontinence) obtain emergency medical assistance .

Do not get dehydrated, which can cause dizziness or an increase, when you have a disease that causes diarrhea, vomiting or fever. Drink more fluids, especially water. Other liquids are also useful, such as fruit juice mixed to half strength with water, rehydration drinks, weak tea with sugar, clear broth, and gelatin dessert. If you have another medical condition such as kidney disease or heart disease, which limits the amount of fluids you are allowed to have, not to drink more than this amount without first talking to your doctor.
