Is Diltiazem XR drugs Dilitazem the same 240? I changed pharmacies, and my new pills are not the same color as the pills before my pharmacy, Should I be worried? the pharmasist insisted it was the same pill. I use it for hypertension.
You have not given enough information. XR is a release profile usually say modified release over a period of 24 hours. 240 indicates the strength of diltiazem. Are you from U.S.? I do recognize XR as a proprietary name.
Ps you're supposed to have the same brand every time regardless, because bioequivalence, so I would put my foot down and go back to the pharmacist.
There's a formula with 240 mg XR, and probably 240 on the pill. The pharmacy probably just get a different generic.
After looking in a textbook of mine, he said, comes dilitiazem (XR extended-release) preparations of, 60,90,120,180,240,300,360,420 mg. Capsules (extended release) Dilit. comes 60,90,120 mg. And the tablets are 30, 60, 90, 120 mg. Therefore, the only way you can get a dose of 240 mg is to make the XR version throughout. But the appeal of your former pharmacist and check anyway.
