Weather nose bleeds sometimes a slap in the face, or something that happens often is always better to be prepared. Over the years, we have developed several methods in our house on the way to stop a nosebleed.
Method 1 Tipping his head back
Although some people might disagree with that, he was the only solution for my husband, who is bleeding from the nose often. 1. Place tissue safely in the nostril that is bleeding, and tilt the head back. But not so flat, always make sure your head is above your heart! In doing so, you help to slow the blood flow to your nose. I recommend you check your nose a few times before returning the head in normal position.
Method 2 cold cloth to the back of the neck
This method is my weapon of choice son! Who gets tons of accidents and balls hitting him in the face! Since he was little we have been stopping with his nose bloody rag in the neck.
1. Get a damp cold (cold as you can stand it) and place the back of the neck for about 45 -60 seconds. 2. It also helps to seal the bleeding nostril with a handkerchief to help stop the mess! 3. Check the nose several times, repeating the first step, if necessary!
Method 3 Adding pressure
1. Try applying pressure on the bridge of your nose. Squeeze the bony part of your nose with your index finger and thumb. Try this for 3-5 minutes, if it continues to bleed try to pinch for about 10 min. Remember to breathe through your mouth! You do not want all the added mess to clean!
Method 4 Combine all three! In severe cases where nothing seems to work, try the cold cloth with pressure and tilt your head back. Above all try to stay or come and keep your child calm and relaxation! Stressful may actually cause a flow of blood on the nose!
If nothing seems to help you clarify your nose bloodied, you may need to consult a doctor. I've shown you several ways on how to stop a nosebleed, I hope you or someone you know benefit from this! I always carry extra tissues anywhere I go, its best to be always ready!
