Rehab of bulimia? What to expect? I start rehabilitation for bulimia in a few days. The program is 6 hours / day, 5 days / week. What should I expect?
There is also a program for adults only.
I've never been in rehab for bulimia, but I was hospitalized for anorexia, and I was sent to a treatment center outpatient. Usually, there are several therapy groups throughout the day. These measures may include group therapy, individual therapy, art therapy, music therapy, therapy with the specific skills of relaxation therapy, so too, will have meetings with a nutritionist to help you plan your meals, you give an idea of what a healthy diet, and answer your questions about nutrition. You can also see a doctor, who will speak and will decide whether or not you should be prescribed any medication, and how you are medically stable.
You'll also probably meals there, I suppose. Meals are provided with other patients suffering from eating disorders and will be supervised by staff. You will receive a tray of food and needed to eat all (refusal usually means that you must have a drink Ensure instead). There may also be special rules on meals, as you must be completed within a period of time, you're not allowed to talk about the size portions of calories / the meal, you can not wear baggy shirts to meals, etc.
hope this helps
