Baking Soda Antacid

Posted on February 25, 2010.
Baking Soda AntacidWould activated charcoal on the work of baking soda and mild antacid overdose?

If yes, how long do you use? i overdosed two weeks ago and I started using activated charcoal (charcocaps). Thing is I always get these bubbles sound when I leave my mouth open.

It is almost impossible to overdose of baking soda, and it would be fairly quickly overcome by increased production of gastric acid, less than an underlying condition causing a problem with acid production (Helicobacter pylori interfere with the production of acid). In the case of antacids, it really depends on the type of which you speak, alkaline single (Rennie), or inhibitors of the proton pump (Zantac).
Charcoal at the bottom to neutralize toxins and binding, it would be of limited assistance here.
If your reflux was bad enough for you to overdose on antacids, and still symptoms two weeks later, you really need to go to your doctor to rule gastroduodenal or duodenal ulcers.
